友友个展“他山之石，他山之水”6月8日在意大利海滨之城～佩斯卡拉开幕集锦-展厅-诗人艺术馆-幸存者诗刊

友友：意大利海滨之城佩斯卡拉画展前言

本次展览被命名为“他山之石，他山之水”。我在此借用了一句古老的中国成语：“他山之石，可以攻玉”。我已经在海外漂泊了30多年，曾居住在许多欧洲城市。可以说，是欧洲丰富的古典和现代艺术，让我实现了成为画家的梦想。当我还是个孩子的时候，我在中国西北的荒野中长大，但我总是抱着一种隐秘的欲望，就是我想画画！在世界上漂流的生活为我提供了这个机会。丰富多彩的欧洲艺术既启发又挑战我，它们唤醒了植根于我内部的中国古典艺术传统，又让我远远超越了它。我希望我的抽象画，能既保留中国传统文化的诗意灵魂，同时又具有纯粹的个性和创造性。这里，颜色和形式间的对比，完全由我自己构建。我或可称之为“中国古典文化的创造性现代转型”，但假如没有欧洲艺术的启蒙，也许我永远不会拿起画笔来。中西方连接了我的艺术，通过汲取双方的营养来完善自己。回到那句中国成语，我对东西方，都是“他山之石、他山之水”，它们两者都是我的能源，却并非局限。最终，我希望我的艺术，正是那块玉，被我从“他者们”获得的元素所雕刻，并因为这融合，它们明亮而美丽。

YoYo’s words about the exhibition

This exhibition was named "The Stone and Water from Other Mountains". I borrowed a classical Chinese idiom "One can carve the jade with the Stone from other mountains". I have been wandering overseas for more than 30 years, and have traveled and lived in many European cities. I could say that, Europe's rich classical and modern art made me achived my dreams to be a painter. When I was a child, I grew up in the wild land of northwest China, but I always held a secret desire, that is, I want to paint! The floating life in the world provided this opportunity to me. The colorful European art both inspired and challenged me, they woke up Classical Chinese arts-tradition that rooted inside of me, yet let me go far beyond it. I hope my abstract paintings keep the poetical soul of Traditional Chinese culture, and be purely individual and creative at the same time. The contrasts between the colors and the forms are entirely constructed by myself. I could call it “the creative modern transformation of Classical Chinese culture”, yet without the the enlightenment of European arts, perhaps I shall never pick up a pen to paint. I am an artist whom brought the two sides together, and refine and edify myself through their nutrition. Coming back to the ancient Chinese idiom, I am “The stone and Water from other mountains” for both East and West, both of them are my energy but not a limitation. After all, I hope my art is just that piece of jade, been carved by all elements I gained from “the others”, because of this integration, they are shining and beautiful.
